Open the downloaded file

Find MacStats-1.0.6.pkg in your Downloads folder, then right-click it and choose Open rather than double-clicking. Confirm Open in the dialog.

MacStats is not yet notarised by Apple, so macOS warns on first launch. Right-clicking and choosing Open is how you approve it. On macOS 15 Sequoia or later you may instead need System Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Open Anyway.

Run the installer

Follow the prompts. MacStats installs into your Applications folder.

Launch it

Open MacStats from Launchpad or Spotlight. If macOS blocks it, right-click the app in Applications and choose Open. You only need to do that once. After that it lives in your menu bar.

Requires macOS 13 Ventura or later on an Apple silicon Mac. Some readings need one system permission, explained on the permissions page.
